Procedure Necessity

Based on analysis of the task for which the procedure is intended, determination of whether or not a procedure is necessary should be made.

If a procedure is determined to be necessary, the guidelines presented in the following sections should be used in the drafting of the procedure.

If a procedure is not determined to be necessary, other types of job aids, such as checklists, should be investigated to determine if they are needed.
