The policies of the company relating to the task for which the procedure is intended should be consulted before the procedure is written (Peres et al., 2015).

Applicable company policies should be incorporated in the information within the procedure.

Company policies that conflict with the information presented in the following sections should be further investigated to determine the most appropriate method for writing the procedure.
